Semiconductor Laser to Be Widely Applied to Growing Crops
Many farms across the country are greatly benefitting from a portable semiconductor laser device that produces beams favourable for plants. It was developed by researchers at Kim Il Sung University.
Simply built and easy to handle, the device helps promote the growth of crops by using the characteristics of laser beam such as coherence, monochroic property, directivity and strong concentration.
Many agricultural units piloted the device through the farming of such crops as rice, wheat, barely, maize and soybean, finding out that it is extremely effective in promoting the growth of crops, killing harmful insects and protecting crops from wild animals.
The device costs even less than purchasing growth accelerants for crops.
With no use of growth accelerants, it helps control wheat diseases and prevent or reduce the damages by insect pests such as aphid, rice borer, caterpillar and Hydrellia griseola.
In particular, when treated by the device, seeds sprout faster and evenly.
The laser beam is greatly effective in keeping wild boars and pheasants away from the fields.
The device has been registered as a high-tech product.
