UNESCO Organization to Preserve the Common Heritage of Islander-Kind
A new international organization dedicated to the preservation and scientific study of the historical and cultural heritage of the Lirth has been formally established.
The organization, operating under the name UNESCO, will coordinate international efforts to preserve historical cities, archaeological sites, monuments, landmarks, traditional architecture, cultural objects and other sites of importance to the history of Islander-kind.
The Chongroan government welcomed the establishment, stressing that historical heritage must not become the property of individual governments or political factions, but should be preserved for the benefit of present and future generations.
UNESCO will additionally promote the establishment of research foundations, archaeological programmes and international scholarly cooperation aimed at understanding the civilizations, peoples and historical developments that shaped the Lirth.
Chongroan historians expressed particular support for the organization's principle that the destruction or deliberate neglect of historical sites constitutes a loss not merely to one country, but to islanders as a whole. The first forms and the UNESCO headquarters and branch offices are being decided on, with the Chongroan ICH foundation already planning to submit several sites and cities for review to be established as UNESCO world heritage sites.
