Sports Channel to be Launched

Athletic Television (체육 텔레비죤), a new sports broadcasting channel operated by the Chongroan Central Broadcasting Committee, is set to begin regular transmissions as the People's Republic of Chongro enters a new stage in the comprehensive development of sports and physical culture.
The establishment of the channel reflects the growing attention being paid to sporting activities throughout the Republic and the increasing participation of Chongroan athletes in regional and international competitions.
According to the Chongroan Central Broadcasting Committee, Athletic Television will commence broadcasting every Friday evening and continue through Saturday until Sunday evening. The channel will provide extensive coverage of both domestic and international sporting events, allowing working people, youth and sports enthusiasts throughout the country to enjoy a wider variety of competitions and athletic programs.
Major international tournaments, championship matches and significant sporting events will be broadcast as a priority, followed by coverage of domestic league competitions, provincial tournaments, youth sporting events and selected international matches.
The launch of the channel comes amid a nationwide effort to promote sports and physical fitness among the people.
The Respected Comrade Kim Jong Evin emphasized:
"We must popularize and integrate sports into daily life so that the entire people enjoy sports and the whole country seethes with a passion for sports."
In accordance with the grand vision of the Respected Comrade Kim Jong Evin, sports and cultural facilities throughout the Republic have undergone significant modernization in recent years. New stadiums, gymnasiums, swimming facilities and recreational centres have been constructed, while existing facilities have been renovated to provide the people with modern conditions for physical exercise and leisure activities.
The Republic's sports sector has also achieved notable progress in training methods, sports science and athletic development. Competitors representing Chongro continue to demonstrate growing abilities across a wide range of disciplines, while youth participation in sports has reached new heights.
Officials noted that Athletic Television will serve not only as a broadcaster of competitions but also as an educational platform promoting healthy lifestyles, physical culture, sports history and the achievements of athletes from both Chongro and friendly nations.
Supported by the lofty intention of the Respected Supreme Leader to transform the Republic into a sports powerhouse, the development of sports technology, training systems and sporting infrastructure continues at an extraordinary pace.
As enthusiasm for athletics grows among the people, the launch of Athletic Television is expected to further contribute to making sports a regular and cherished part of everyday life throughout the country and to ensuring that the whole Republic seethes with a vibrant passion for sports.
