Second Khorasan War Breaks Out as Iwe Qumri Takes Up Arms

The outbreak of the Second Khorasan War has been reported following the renewed armed confrontation between the Iwe Qumri movement and the Ailartsuan Protectorate Government in Khorasan.

Ailartsuan state media announced:

"Iwe-Qumri takes up Arms against Ailartsuan Protectorate Government, beginning the Second Khorasan War. This comes after Ailartsua took over Khorasan, Rebuilding it into a first world society."

According to information available to CCNA, tensions between the Iwe Qumri and the Red Militia had already intensified from June 12, eventually contributing to the Ailartsuan invasion of the Socialist Emirate of Khorasan on June 13.

The Chongroan government considers the renewed fighting a consequence of the disastrous political arrangements imposed upon Khorasan following the Ailartsuan takeover.

Ailartsua has repeatedly described Khorasan as having been transformed into a "first world society." Chongroan observers, however, point to the extensive presence of Ailartsuan officials within Khorasani institutions as evidence of continued political subordination.

Particularly concerning is the Ailartsuan government's declared intention to prevent both the Red Militia and Iwe Qumri from rebuilding their political and military organizations.

The Chongroan government has therefore maintained a formally neutral position toward the conflict, while expressing greater political sympathy toward the Iwe Qumri and other indigenous leftist forces than toward the Ailartsuan imperial administration. Despite our own ideological differences and our disapproval of how they conduct their (the Red Militia) operations, the Chongroan government thinks that any state should be allowed to fight for their own self-determination.

Chongroan officials further condemned Ailartsua's colonial expansion elsewhere, including its long-time but still recent established presence on the Maurangian continent.

The exploitation of local traditions and the extraction of valuable commodities such as Maurangian silk for the benefit of foreign interests were described as examples of "modern colonialism concealed beneath the language of development and partnership."
