Preprations for National Day in Full Swing
August 31 marks the beginning of the nationwide preparations for the most significant month in the history of the Chongroan people.
Across Pyongyang, Shendu, Kimyong, Beqing and every province of the Republic, preparations for September 9, National Day of the People's Republic of Chongro have entered full swing.
The Republic was founded on September 9, 1945, shortly after the liberation of Chongro from the Kopanese imperialist occupation.
The founding anniversary is regarded not merely as the establishment of a state, but as the day on which the Chongroan people placed their highest confidence in President Kim Il Sung, recognizing him as the first leader of their independent sovereign state.
Chairman Kim Jong Il once emphasized the profound significance of the anniversary, stating that the founding of the Republic reminded him above all of President Kim Il Sung.
He noted that the significance of the founding day lay particularly in the fact that the Chongroan people had placed Kim Il Sung at the head of their newly independent state.
The Chairman further stated that the Republic, built and led by Kim Il Sung, had enabled the people to live a happy life and had laid the foundation for national prosperity.
He emphasized that:
"Modern Chongro is Kim Il Sung's."
He recalled that Kim Il Sung liberated the country at the age of 34, founded the Republic and was subsequently held in the highest esteem as its head of state.
Chairman Kim Jong Il paid the highest respect to the President, emphasizing that while many leaders have appeared throughout world history, there had been few who had begun revolutionary activity at such a young age, led a prolonged national liberation struggle to victory and subsequently established an independent state.
As National Day approaches, cities and villages throughout the Republic are being decorated with national flags, portraits, banners and flowers.
Workers, students, farmers, soldiers and cultural organizations are preparing concerts, exhibitions, sporting competitions and public celebrations.
A parade in Kim Il Sung square in the Central District of Pyongyang, the Capital city of the Chongroan Revolution, is expected to be held on September 9th.
The entire country is preparing to welcome September with pride.
And as the Republic approaches its 81st founding anniversary, the Chongroan people once again look toward the future with confidence, determination and revolutionary optimism.
