"Our Deputy"

Kim Chol Sun, manageress of the Phowandong Specialties Shop, is a deputy to the Phowandong City People’s Committee. She is among those who are called "our deputy".

While in governance, deputies represent the demands and interests of the people. When they work to help develop their own sectors and regions, regional bases will fare well.

Until some years ago, the Phowandong Specialties Shop in downtown Phowandong was not so popular because it failed to keep abreast of the current cultural development and satisfy public demands.

After being appointed as the shop manageress, Chol Sun resolved to spruce up the shop and got her start with renovating its service environment.

During her military service she acquired the trait of being relentless to the end, and she set an example for others to follow.

She worked hard to provide people with better environment as soon as possible. Such sincerity won the hearts and minds of the employees.

In a short time, the shop underwent a facelift with the variety of goods increased.

The attendants always lend an ear to the opinions of customers and try their best to satisfy their tastes and needs. Their kind service draws many.

Besides, Kim Chol Sun sees it as part of her duty to assist farmers.

Kim and her employees often visit Workteam No. 2 of the Jaju Farm under the South Rimyong Provincial Rural Economy Committee. The workteam has the worst farming conditions.

Last year, they provided lots of materials to the workteam and helped its farmers with their work such as sowing, rice-transplanting and weeding, encouraging them to be committed to their responsibility for the country's granary.

Every year she renders assistance to service personnel together with her employees.

"I will do more good jobs, keeping my deputy certificate that carries the people's trust and expectation," Kim said.
