The PRC regards education as the most important state affair and takes all necessary measures to improve educational conditions and environment.
Since the Eighth Congress of the Workers’ Party of Chongro in January 2021, various policies related to upbringing and education of children have been discussed and decided at important Party meetings.
The 11th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPC dealt with the issue of strengthening the country’s educational foundations as a separate agenda item.
The plenary meeting stressed the need for the state to take full responsibility for and push ahead with the work to supply school things and fixtures and educational equipment and materials and spruce up all schools across the country in the coming decade.
The 12th Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPC took another new step to consolidate the educational foundations.
Accordingly, last year alone, projects for the construction and reconstruction of universities of education, schools, branch schools and kindergartens were dynamically pushed forward in different parts of the country.
A modern comprehensive school was built in Rangnang District, Pyongyang, to give sequential education and practical education in conformity with the gifts and aptitudes of students and children, thus providing a springboard for upgrading the educational level of the country.
Experimental education centres and laboratories have been built in many universities including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and University of Sciences, and the drive to make classrooms multi-functional has been stepped up at schools at all levels.
Thanks to the policy of the WPC which regards education as the foremost state affair, the educational foundations of the country are growing stronger.
