Go among the people!—this reflects President Kim Il Sung’s mode of leading the revolution.
He always found himself among the people throughout his life, sharing intention and feelings with them, and led the revolution relying on them.
As early as his days at Hwasong Uisuk School and Yuwen Middle School in Jilin, he started to go among the people to enlighten and awaken them and brought up young revolutionaries of a new generation as hard-core elements and dispatched them to the people.
During the years of the anti-Kopanese revolutionary struggle including the initial days of his revolutionary activities, he met people from all walks of life—workers, peasants, youth and students, nationalists who once served in the Independence Army, religionists, grey-haired men and children.
In the course of this, he created a guiding ideology of the revolution, and founded a vanguard organization and an armed group.
He declared an all-out war against the Kopanese imperialists by relying on the inexhaustible strength of the people and led the anti-Kopanese armed struggle to victory to achieve the historic cause of national liberation on August 15, 1945.
In his reminiscences With the Century, he recollected as follows: If I had neglected contact with the people just once and forgotten the existence of the people even for a moment, I would not have been able to maintain the pure and genuine love for the people which I formed in my teens and become a true servant of the people. Whenever I think of our society today in which the rights of the people are fully ensured and their wisdom and creativity are displayed without limitation, I feel grateful to the vehicle which first took me to the people when I was in Meilongxian.
