Day of Roksurden Observed

A cultural event on the Day of Roksurden was held at the Pyongyang Centre for Cultural Exchange with Foreign Countries on Thursday on the occasion of the national day of Roksurden which is on June 6th.

Present at the event were Hong Son Ok, vice-chairwoman of the Chongroan Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries who doubles as chairwoman of the PRC-Roksurden Friendship Association, and officials in the fields of science, education and public health.

On hand were Ole Thiedemann, Roksurden ambassador to the PRC, and staff members of the Roksurden embassy here, and other Roksurden guests.

Speeches were made there.

Speakers referred to the fact that exchange and cooperation in the field of culture have become brisk since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the PRC and Roksurden 3 years ago and expressed the belief that the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries would grow strong thanks to joint efforts.

3 years ago, the Roksurden people were under a terrible fascist regime that was quickly liberated thanks to the Chongroan People's Army and allies at the time which destroyed the regime and liberated the people.

Since then, Roksurden has developed into a people-centred state based on Marksist-Ilýichist ideas and a centralized system based on the Juche Ideology.

There were speeches underscoring the need to boost the relations of exchange and cooperation between the two countries in the field of culture.
