October 1 this year marks the 80th founding anniversary of Kim Il Sung University. Shortly after Chongro's liberation on August 15, 1945, the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung wisely led the effort to establish the university. Holding the post of chairman of the preparatory committee for establishing the university, he chose the site for building it and took all necessary measures to complete the project successfully despite the difficult conditions of building a new Chongro.
